So there she sat, alone and cold. Her bare arms had not a thread of clothing to know of. The only thing she had on was a dirty suit, and not like, business monkey-man, but more like NEST suit. It was white and was cut off at the arms and the thighs of her legs. It was a collared, almost like a turtle neck only much more stiff and funny smelling. The sheer coldness of the wind made her shutter. Numero uno, that's what she was. Experiment number one, the success. She was Shiver, her name. 16 and on her own. Her clothes still smelled like smoke from the fire she had made back at the 'Inn'. It was terrible, her mind just crammed in with chemicals and hormones. She didn't even know where she had originated. Shiver had no recollection of her past, just the horrors that had been done to her by the scientists. She reached up to gently caress her headphones, a sign of her nerves. The head garment wasn't so much for an accessory as much as it was for protection. She had powers, which was more than she could say for others. She had mind powers, telepathy as well as other mind communications like mind reading and even controlling others, but she rarely did so. Plus, she weaknesses, especially in mind reading. Shiver had no control whatsoever of who and when she could read minds, which was where the headphones came in. They blocked her powers for the most part, allowed her to better control them.
Shiver took a big breath, controlling her mind. It would be fine, just close her eyes and wait for someone to come.

Having been quite new to the area, the short but quite thin boy had decided that the park would be the best way to find out more on the area. What was I thinking? he thought as he had started off.
He hadn't anticipated seeing anyone, really, though he was shocked to see the girl wearing the white suit. Her arms are exposed. What is she trying to show off, exactly? he thought to himself again.
Well, she's wearing headphones, so maybe that means I should go talk to her. And at that, the black haired boy had walked up to the girl with a pathetic smile plastered over his face.
"Is there a chance you know this area well? I'm sort of lost, you see," he said before realizing that her eyes were shut. His blue eyes sought the spot where he hoped to meet her own as he anticipated an answer.
He was wearing warm clothing. His pants were a navy blue, and his shirt was black. He had a coat on which was gray, and he had a scarf which was also navy blue. His hair was messy, but had a black hat over it, as well. His shoes were white and black, patterned with checkered boxes and the laces were gray, and tied very tight so they wouldn't come off. ((Do inform me if your character is hidden, because if so, then -ignore- this response. :3))

(No, in fact I love you for replying. -brofist-) She picked up the sound of footsteps far before they had arrived. They were light footsteps, so their master was small, preferrably male seeings as they had a sort if walk to them. Her eyes flickered open, their amber and blue irises blacked out by her pupils as they adjusted to the sudden change. She looked up to match a pair of pretty blue eyes. Her prediction had been correct, male, thin, he had jet black hair. His outfit quite odd, it rivaled even her own odd suit. She couldn't help but giggle slightly with a sient amusement. "Lost? Sure, I think I can help. But it really depends on where your going." Shepointed out, she plastered on a nice smile and an uppy mood. Shiver tilted her head, starting ti stand at this guys request. He seemed pretty well-mannered and carried himself well, an odd thing when one met another person. So far all shed seen were rude, cruel, criminals. She herself felt her spirits lift with his. Maybe it was just his oddities. "I'm Shiver, you?"

The man had been a tad surprised to have met her eyes, though he was glad. He should have anticipated it, even.
He had to pretend that he did not near the giggling, and straightened himself up. Oh dear. What have I done? he thought to himself as he pulled a bit on his navy blue scarf, blinking.
"Well, miss, I am merely searching for a place to call home, as of now. I don't suppose you know any place that'd be suitable?" he asked curiously. His voice was indeed giving off the feeling that he was young.
"Oh-- and I am called Jay. A pleasure, Shiver!" he said in a rather joyful tone. Maybe I'll have a friend. "I suppose the place to stay tonight matters very little. I'm a tad curious about your attire, though if it were too personal, my mistake. One can only wonder, you see,"
His awkward attempt at a conversation had even startled himself. This was perhaps the third or fourth person he had spoken to since his mother's death, and this was the only way he actually was having a legitimate conversation.
He nodded in addition to the statement, his smile ever so plastered over his pale face, adorning it as his blue eyes had darted about the girl, though not with intent.

She gave another light laugh, she noticed his uncomfortable acting and toned it down, "I apologize, it's just your so...od, but not in a bad way, your interesting." She explained opening her palms in a hand gesture to her words. She flashed a bright grin and stepped back. "A place to stay? Hmm, you know, just the other day, I got a place over in the suburbs. I could take you there. Probably get you registered or whatever." She shuffled her felt awkwardly unsure if where this might get to. Then, he mentioned her 'suit'. She shuffled some more and messed around with her fingers, it was her turn to be uncomfortable. "Um, let's say it's just a uniform." She said looking at him with an awkward smile. But back to other things, she'd rather not talk about her times at the Inn. She started to walk out, waving with her hand for Jay to follow.

Jay had merely shrugged and followed Shiver, being sure to give her distance. He understood the pain of having strangers come close.
"Indeed? Uniform? Well, I suppose we're both odd, then! Wouldn't you agree?" he asked, grinning back and casually placing his hands in his pockets as he went. "I don't suppose it's an expensive place? My funds aren't expansive, and I hope to live to next week," he said with a chuckle.
As he walked along, he took yet another moment to observe her and how different she was compared to him. His blue eyes couldn't comprehend her 'uniform', though it was obvious that she had no desire to speak of it, and he was raised a better fellow than to ask what made someone uncomfortable.
What a curious critter, he thought. Maybe she feels obligated. I shouldn't have done that.
"Erm. Shiver, was it? You don't- by chance- feel that you have to do this, are you? We're stranger's to one-another, afterall, and I'd hate to inconvenience you. I can't have that," he said with another tug at his scarf, his smile had been gone for some time. One could note that he almost looked sad or upset when he was content.

She carried on down the small dirt road in silence. She could feel his thoughts, but she resisted probing through them like some freak. Shiver held respect for others, she wasn't about to break trust because of some power she had. Shiver coukd also sense his staring, she didn't stay anything, but rather ignired it. She was just as interested in him after all. So it wouldn't hurt if he did the same. Then it came, it was an accident, a slip up. She heard it, she actually did it! What kind of person did that! Obligated? Why? She looked back, giving him a discrete sort of glance, was that what he thought? And then he voiced his thoughts to confirm. "No, why would you think that? I've been living there too, it's only by courtesy. And I like you, it's a friendly gesture." She explained. "And it's pretty cheap, practically free." She added, shruging off his question as if it didn't bother her in the slightest. She wasn't forced into this. She was slightly hurt by this, what did she come to others as?

"I am most greatful for such a gesture," Jay said with yet another smile. He had finally moved his gaze from her attire to the very road they were walking on. I wonder why she's so quiet, he thought, actually scratching the back of his hat as he did. "And that is terrific, might I add. I thought I'd be struggling to find a place to take up residence in, but I see now how helpful people are." he said with a smile, still walking along and still giving her space. His eyes had darted about the road carefully, as if he was expecting something though he couldn't find it. Thoughts raced about his mind quickly, caring to go from water to fire to life and death, but those thoughts alone seemed to strike horrible fear into him, causing him to steady his movements as he went along. He couldn't allow himself to trip. Not now. Not while being helped.
He had reached a bit into his pocket where he had grasped onto a piece of old paper with numbers and doodles written all over it, bringing it out in front of him as he walked-- still being sure to watch where he was going-- but reading it, as well. Seven Eight Ten Eleven Seventeen He had folded it up as soon as he read the numbers and placed the piece of paper back into his pocket, and came a bit closer -- but not too close -- to Shiver. She knows the way, anyhoo.

She looked back with a smile, but she willed herself not to read his thoughts again. What kind of friend would she be then? Shiver watched his movements, he seemed almost jumpy. Well, she had been that way too not three days ago. Bleeding and injured she had stumbled into town with nothing but her damn suit and a name. Plus, there was the trail, with the dim light sthat the streetlights provided and shadows on either side of them, she'd be freaked too. She was a little, but she'd grown accustom to these circumstances, had even adjusted. Still sensing his uneasy feelings, she slowed her pace, when he ventured closer to her guiding, she slwed to walk beside him. "You alright Jay?" She asked with a curious tone. She hadn't noticed the piece of note, nor had she taken note of his interest in everything, she was the same as well. She cracked a grin, nudging him with her arm, "It's fine, the path opens back into the park in a bit. Then it's just sidewalks and grass. I promise." She said with a straightface. She was trying to keep it comfortable, up until now she had done well.

The man had looked at her carefully, though he managed a smile on his pale face. His blue eyes had gazed at her again as she nudged him. "It's not that, Shiver. It's more of the weather, you see. When it gets cold like this, I tend to have more trouble moving, and fall easily,' he said with a nod, adjusting his movements even more. The movements he had started to do were less and less quick. "Pardon me, Shiver, but how long will this be? I am not sure I can sustain this. That's what happens when you have thin blood,' he said with yet another nod, turning to her and expecting an answer, but he feared no contribution of a smile. Nice people aren't so hard to find, I guess. [/i][/blockquote] ((I will be going to bed, now. Sorry!))

(I already went to bed XD)
"Alright then, it's only down the road." In fact, the road had opened up into lush lawns. She could see the metal gates that seperated the park from the suburbs. "It's eight over there. When you go inside, registration should by right on the left." She explained. She thought about what to do next. Shiver looked at their situation from every perspective, but she remained unsure. "So Jay, I guess your not lost anymore." She looked down at her 'uniform' she'd change for sure. Grab a meal and then what? Settle down and get cozy? Shivee gave the guy a sideways glance.

Jay had pulled on his scarf once more, still walking along. He had grown unsure of what to expect.
"So are you going to go home, then?" he asked, turning his head and meeting her gaze with his own, his eyes as blue as the ocean and his expression that of a curious child's.
"I suppose I am not, anymore-... but are you alright?" he asked with concern in his voice, and his thoughts running wild. She's returning the favor on that observation thing. Maybe I shouldn't have done -that-, either.
What could be concluded, Jay hadn't a clue of, but he was almost sure she was curious of him as he was of her. Such a thing can only come natural to people, even though he was twice as sure that she was more of a curious being than he was. He waited.

Shiver had grown up, she was to have no mire pouting. After all, she was on her own, an adult. Well, in some way. She began to fiddle with her fingers again. Going home seemed like a reasonable option, "It seems that way doesn't it...." Shiver didn't like forcing herself onto other people, she just didn't like to be alone was all. Maybe it out people off, Shiver was used to that as well. Her curiosity often snatched her opportunites and she ended up with nthing. It was how she'd ended up where she was now. Am I alright? Yes, she was fine. "I'm fine rest assured. I can get home. But, hey listen, I can help out with registration if you'd like. We could converse like normal people under, well, normal circumstances. So what say you?" She asked as they approached the gate.

Though Jay hated to admit it, he wished to press his way into everyone's life for no just reason.
"'Ah, well... I will trust in your words, Shiver," he said with a nod and a smile. She's lying, [/i] he thought. "And I'd certainly love for you to help, if you're willing, I mean. I couldn't have you going out of your way for a stanger!" At that, he finally loosened his scarf a bit. "Oh- and I'd love to chat! I have yet to meet someone in the area-- I mean, before I encountered you," he said with another smile, though it hadn't lasted. His expression had gone blank once he saw the gate. Since she's helping me, I probably won't have to worry about figuring this registration out. What a kind gal. I think too much.[/i][/blockquote]

Trust is a fragile thing, once crushed, it could be fixed, but it would never be the same. Her eyes were downcast as she walked through the gate, sidewalk turned to asphalt and a small building stood tall against them. "That's wonderful then." She said with a genuine relief. Such a selfless person. Unlike me... Of course by now, she had a good picture of Jay, his personality was that if a gentleman, a saint. Shiver could only imagine the innocence, she was jealous, a good soul he had. And yet, she was still satisfyed in which she could fall upon such a person. "The people here are nice from what I've gathered." She opened the door, triggering a bell that announced their arrival. Her amber and blue eyes looked about the small facility to a dark skinned man with a scraggly beard and green eyes that held wisdom of that of a good man. "Jay, meet Mr. Tulear." The man gave a wild smile and rushed out from behind the counter, extending his hand. "A fine boy Shiver, joining the cult is he? Shiver chuckled and shook her head, "Unfortunately no, just registering." Nonetheless, Tulear smiled and nodded, rushing behind the counter to retrieve a set of keys and two papers. "All you do is sign your name on both papers. The first is the actual cntract and registration, the last is just a promise that you'll take care of the lot." She explained as Mr. Tulear handed over the forms.
